![]() ![]() I have seen similar results to Morganti and agree with his comment, very disappointing. It used to work well for old scanned jpgs but now doesn't do much. I'd say both of the new Denoise AI and Sharpen AI products are superior to previous versions and worth my money.Ĭheck out the low light option. I think this is quite acceptable at a 200% view It didn't occur to me to see how Sharpen AI could handle a denoised only image till just now! Straight DeNoise was good, but I liked how it improved the overall quality. I used Clear AI in this case, just because I liked it better. even with a smaller jpgĪfter (Full Size jpg) ISO 25,600 (Not at all bad for m43s at > 6400 ISO quite usable, I think) Below are my results for Denoise AI reduced to smaller jpgs, I hope you can see the differences, but overall, I'm pleased with the upgrade.īefore 25,600 ISO you can still see the noise. I'd say both are about 30 - 40% faster in operation. So, I "bit the bullet" and sent them money. I got a "fairly good" deal on the upgrades of both Denoise AI and Sharpen AI. Don't know if that was on purpose, either way, take full credit! Just noticed your reference to v.1.9.1!!! Was ready to point out your error, then decided to check the Updates page. I have successfully sent images to DNAI direct from FastStone, applied corections, and accepted the result, no problem.Īach. I normally launch AP via FastStone, then dupe the image layer. I see I didn't try re-installing AP in any of these scenarios, I may try that. I then uninstalled again, deleted DNAI from AP, and ran the installer again, then added DNAI back into AP. īefore writing, I uninstalled the previous version of DNAI, then installed v3.0.2 using the Full Installer. It makes a complete 'round trip' to Topaz and then back to Affinity Photo, using ORF raw files into Affinity, then developed, and sent to Topaz from there. I just did this for On1 Photo RAW and found a 20% discount code.Affinity Photo v1.91.979. Google the software name followed by discount code. I scanned some slides I took 50 years ago on Kodachrome 64 and it really smoothed out the grain and sharpened the image too. And the software has updated twice with no fee. DeNoise looked like it did the best job, so I bought it a few weeks ago (version 2.3.1). There are several excellent articles and videos out there. I Googled to compare DeNoise with other similar programs. I started this thread to try to find out how AI DeNoise 2.3 compares to other noise reduction solutions out there. The new quadruple preview certainly is a good feature but the quality of the output is the most important point, of course. At least, I could reinstall my last version covered by the license which removes the installation of v.2.3.2, of course.Īnyway, I probably will consider the upgrade hoping that the IQ - especially in Low light mode - isn't inferior to v.2.2.12 as some user at the Topaz community had commented after the launch of v.2.3. ![]() But funny enough, I couldn't send the request because the installation of the newest version has to be confirmed in the form (unless you lie, of course). I also tried to submit a request to the Topaz support for an optional parallel installation. I didn't try to move the AI-Denoise folder or even the whole TopasLabs directory to another location prior to running the installer for v 2.3.2 because I wanted to avoid possible issues with my other Topaz programs. To rename the AI Denoise subfolder in the TopasLabs directory prior to the installation of v.2.3.2 doesn't help either - in any case the old version is replaced. It's not even possible to try the new version before paying for the upgrade since you get the message that the license has expired whenever you try to launch v.2.3.2 I had downloaded the full installer of v 2.3.2 (not the online installer) but the old version is overwritten and thus not accessible anymore. Just if somebody is interested: It's obviously not possible to install the new version parallel to the previous one in order to compare the output side by side. ![]()
